ABOUT Montreal, Canada Available for travel worldwide Hi, my name is Marlon and I love Star Wars and Kraft Dinner. I think this is where I'm supposed to say where I studied photography, except I didn't; I actually studied biology. My passion for photography began in the 7th grade when my English teacher would bring in slides and show us his photos. I had only thought of photos as snaps from my mom's small camera, but seeing his crisp photos with blurry backgrounds and interesting framing made me want to try it for myself. I got my first SLR that year and wasted lots of film and loved every minute of it. In University I did a research project in the Galapagos Islands and enjoyed taking photos more than the work. A few of my photos were published in the university paper and I was approached by a friend-of-a-friend who wanted to know if I'd shoot a wedding with him… Fast forward 10 years and I’ve been published in: Maxim, Variety, Canadian Family, The Montreal Gazette, marketing materials inside some stores you've probably been in, some smaller magazines like Canadian Music, lots of catalogues & fliers, and lots of people use my images as their Facebook profile pics. I’ve even won a photo contest! My photographic style is a blend of editorial photography & photojournalism. What does that mean? I love to capture raw moments as they happen, but I can also step in to make something look cool. It’s all about making people look cool. I try to keep things fun on my shoots and I’m not a diva, but I don’t take my job lightly. I find myself constantly humbled to be entrusted to create images for all my amazing clients. If I’m not taking pictures or editing them I’m usually with my wife and two kids, or playing guitar. You might even catch me in the background of an Epic Meal Time episode… I love to hear from people whether it’s an inquiry for a shoot, a photography question, or anything in between.
